What is Starfish Project?

Starfish Project is a social enterprise that helps exploited women in Asia. Women who participate in Starfish Project’s Holistic Care Programs receive vocational training, healthcare, shelter, counseling, and educational opportunities that equip them with the tools they need to build successful, independent lives. They also offer training in things like literacy, math, and computer skills.

According to Starfish Project website:

“At Starfish Project we help exploited women and girls experience freedom, establish independence, and develop careers.”

How does Starfish Project empower women?

Many of the women in Starfish Project programs start by creating jewelry for the company, which opens opportunities for growth into management, graphic design, photography, and accounting positions.

Each purchase of Starfish Project jewelry empowers women to defy the odds placed against them as they learn life skills and receive job training that will allow them to live more independently.

Starfish Project has employed over 140 women in Asia who escaped exploitation, and has served thousands more through its community outreach services.
