Pamper Your Besties This Season How to Host a Galentine’s Spa Day at Home!

Share:

Valentine’s Day is not just a day to celebrate romance. It’s a day for showing adoration to everyone you love and celebrating each step you’ve taken toward better self-care. Whether you're enjoying time with family, friends, co-workers, or even pets this Valentine's Day, don't forget to include the most important crush in your life. You.

Give yourself a glow up this year by hosting an at-home Galentine’s spa day that will soothe the senses and leave you and your besties feeling sweetly spoiled ― just the way it should be!

Why is self-care so important?

Too often, we get wrapped up in the excitement of doing for others and forget to do for ourselves. While this altruistic attitude surely expresses your big heart, it’s also difficult to maintain without becoming a drain on your physical and emotional well-being.

Self-care comes in many forms and plays a vital role in all aspects of your health. It can help you manage stress, increase your energy, and basically hold on to your sanity.1 Self-care can be anything from daily exercise and a healthy sleep routine to positivity and meditation.

But today, we’re talking about pure pampering!

Create a spa environment at home.

To ensure a fabulous Galentine’s spa day, set the tone with a relaxing environment. Here are a few simple tips to get your home ready for relaxation:

1. Clean up and clear any clutter.

Imagine walking into your favorite spa and noticing a pile of dirty laundry in the corner of your treatment room. Now, imagine yourself walking right back out! Give your guests (and yourself) the fresh environment you’d expect in a professional setting.

2. Add some soothing spa sounds.

Set the mood for an elevated experience with soft sounds to sink into. This can be Native American flutes, water sounds, chimes, or a spa music channel on your favorite streaming app.

3. Set the scene with soft smells.

Your spa day should tantalize all the senses. Bring a calming scent to the air to welcome your gal pals and help them feel at ease. Lavender is a guaranteed success, but you can also use rose, jasmine, chamomile, or a blend of your favorites.

Create DIY face masks with natural ingredients.

Now that you have a comforting environment planned out for your guests, it’s time to get working on your spa treatments. Face masks are the perfect at-home treatment. They are easy to create and simple to execute but feel every bit like luxury.

Remember, everyone’s skin is unique and has different needs. It’s best to have a few options on hand for your guests to choose from, or you can organize which kind of mask each person prefers before your event.

Here are some of our favorites that you can make with simple ingredients you probably already have at home!

Soothe and calm

Your skin is faced with irritants and environmental toxins on the daily. This sweet, simple mask can help calm your skin with a hint of antioxidants.

What you’ll need:

1 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon coconut oil

¼ ripe avocado

2 drops lavender oil

How to apply:

Mix all ingredients in a bowl.

Gently paint on skin evenly with a face mask brush or fingers, avoiding the eyes.

Leave on for 10 minutes, and rinse with warm water.

Hydrate and nourish

Keeping your skin moisturized can be challenging at times, especially during the colder seasons. The delicious ingredients in this hydrating face mask may surprise you ― or make you hungry.

What you’ll need:

1/2 avocado

1 tablespoon honey

A handful oats or oat bran

How to apply:

Mix all ingredients in a bowl.

Gently paint on skin evenly with a face mask brush or fingers, avoiding the eyes.

Lightly massage into any trouble areas, if desired.

Leave on for 10-15 minutes, and rinse with warm water.

Cooling cucumbers

What spa day would be complete without the classic picture of cucumber slices over everyone’s eyes? Certainly not yours! Cucumbers have commonly been used to help reduce puffiness and hydrate the skin around the eyes. They are the perfect complement to your face mask, while you sit back and relax.

How to use:

Rinse and dry your cucumber.

Slice into ¼ - inch round slices.

Place a slice over each closed eye.

Relax for about 10-15 minutes.

Relaxation recommendation: Add extra cucumber slices to a pitcher of iced water to give your guests a sensational serving of elevated hydration!

Temperate tea bags

If you’re looking for an alternative to cucumbers, warm tea bags are a great choice. Black and green tea bags can help reduce puffiness under your eyes and may even help reduce the appearance of dark circles.

How to use:

Steep 2 or more tea bags in the same preparation as you would for a drink.

Remove bags from water, and gently squeeze out excess liquid.

Let bags cool until they are warm.

Place one bag over each closed eye.

Relax for about 10-20 minutes.

Relaxation recommendation: Steep enough tea bags for each guest, and serve the warm tea while you wait for the bags to cool.

Give them gifts to glow!

Valentine’s Day is about love in all forms, and that includes self-love. Yes, it’s true that your Galentine’s spa day must come to an end, but the reminder to your guests to prioritize themselves should continue well beyond.

Send your guests home with a special gift that not only commemorates the moment, but also reminds them of the value of self-care. Here are a few options to keep them feeling fabulous!

1. Elevate the day and send your besties away with Plexus Glow+! This 3-part system is a fabulous complement to your beauty routine and helps brighten your skin.

Your spa guests will surely remember to make time for self-care with their luxurious Illuminating Elixir to help improve skin brightness and texture, Radiance Polish to deeply cleanse skin, and Overnight Treatment to help nourish and hydrate.

Each set also includes a headband and facial wand! Celebrate your Galentine’s spa day by snapping a photo of your group donning your brand-new beauty best.

Relaxation recommendation: Have each guest open their new Glow+ system and polish the day off with a group toast, using the Illuminating Elixir. Cheers!

2. Send your guests home even happier with everything they need for a beautifully clean, beautifully simple skincare routine. The Joyōme® Beauty Basics Combo works to breathe new life into your skin and help balance its natural microbiome.
