Diamond Documentary: It’s About What You Do For Others

Share:
We’re immensely proud of our Diamond Ambassadors and excited to give them well-deserved recognition by sharing these special videos, which document the success they‘ve had with Plexus®.

How did you learn about Plexus? What were your initial impressions of Plexus?

Since I‘ve loved Facebook for so long, it’s only natural that I would have found out about Plexus on my favorite social media outlet. At first all I would see were people posing with their “pink drink” and hearing words like MLM, how tragic. However, when I saw Rozalyn Payne post about it, I stopped and checked out more because I trusted her fully.

What made you decide to join Plexus as an Ambassador?

Honestly, we were LOVING the products and I thought it would be more fun to tell my friends about it than to have them buy from someone else…so I thought I’d jump in with five customers and just cover the cost of what we were already spending.¤

Talk about the moment when you decided to focus on Plexus.

I was a happy stay at home momma with three kids, one handicapped, and a ton of responsibilities. I just wanted to do this for fun…and it exploded. Emerald in five months, never had time to think about whether I wanted to do it, but it quickly became about my friends who NEEDED this to work, my success was a side-benefit of helping people I loved achieve THEIR dreams!¤

Who is your Plexus mentor? Talk a little about that relationship.

I’ve realize that this has changed so much over the past three years. Tamara Holloway is probably the most like me in our day-to-day thoughts and ideas…so she’s the easiest to download to and bounce my thoughts off of. However, my team is really full of amazing women who love me with or without Plexus. Kim Pollock has stood by me through thick and thin, she challenges me in my health, independence, and commitment to being a better creation of the Lord. Becky Page is fully honest with me at all times, even when it hurts. She sees people well and reminds me that the way that I think isn’t how others think. She encourages me and reminds me that I belong to Jesus before anything else. My sister, Sara Roughton, has shown me that life can through you curve balls, but this business and its residual income can hit those balls out of the park. She was my very first ambassador and leader, and I would have NEVER tried if she hadn’t hit the ground running with me. And Ellen Ford keeps me on my toes. She pushes herself and those around her to be better. Ellen knows how to always have a GREAT time, but gets stuff done.  A great combination for someone who wants it all.  Last, but not least, Rozalyn Payne has been right there next to me since I decided to try the products. We have learned all of this together, and it’s been great to be with her on this journey since she’s been a mentor of mine, or more like a big sister, for almost two decades.¤

What have you learned about yourself through your Plexus experience?

I learned that I can do things I never thought I could do. I would NEVER have spoken in front of a room of 20 or more women, and now I’ve spoken in rooms of hundreds and thousands of like-minded ambassadors. I would never have traveled all over the country by myself to lead others, but I do it monthly. I’m shocked at the things that would have been on my “never me” list…and I’m blowing it up with Plexus.¤

Talk about the first time you were on stage at Convention.

The first year at Convention I was TERRIFIED! I didn’t even have to speak…I just walked on stage and stood there, and I think my heart was beating so loud in my chest that it was the only sound I could hear. I didn’t even want to walk the stage at graduation, but with Plexus, I had EARNED that position and my team was counting on me…so I stood there, terrified and elated at something I had accomplished. It gets easier every year, and it’s special every single time.

How has your WHY changed since you joined Plexus?

I always remind my team that your WHY should change. When you start with this business you have NO idea what’s possible. You see it, but it’s not something you could actually do and aren’t even sure you want to be at the top. I wanted five customers. In my first two years, I couldn’t think of a WHY greater than helping my upline and my team members…and so many achieved their goals. Over this past year my WHY has been to build our fully handicapped accessible house for Ella. This is something that before Plexus would have been 10-15 years down the road…and we’ve done it three and a half years after signing up. #dreambig¤

What have you gained from your Plexus journey that you didn’t expect?

I had been part of network marketing companies in the past and it seemed SO competitive. I wasn’t expecting the undying friendships. People who are not on my team, we make no money off of each other, and yet we spur each other on to greatness. I had lunch today and spent HOURS with a sideline. I had a four and a half hour lunch with Rayne Anderson, just last week. I talk to Rebekah Fowlkes or Melissa Eickenhorst weekly…and they are ALWAYS encouraging. These friendships, outside of my team, are life changing and eternal.

Talk about a particularly moving or memorable moment in your Plexus journey.

Julia Cartee has been one of my dearest friends for years. I knew that she needed the products, but knew she needed the business more…and would be wildly successful. When she told me that prior to Plexus, they weren’t sure their credit card would clear at the grocery store, and a year after joining Plexus they could go to Disney, with her parents, completely paid for by this business, I knew that I couldn’t stop offering this option to people I loved.¤

What three things (skills) would you tell a new Ambassador to get really good at doing?

Prayer, building relationships, being vulnerable

What three things (skills) would you tell an emerging leader to get really good at doing?

Prayer, listening to others, strategizing for new ideas with your team.

What’s the best leadership and/or business advice you’ve received?

If I’m doing this all for my own glory, then I’m putting myself in the wrong place. (my husband)

What’s the best leadership and/or business advice you’d give an emerging leader?

Love others right where they are…and go find new people. It’s not about what others are doing FOR you, but what YOU are doing for others.

In your opinion, what is the key difference between building your own Plexus business and helping others build their own?

I would MUCH rather pour into my team EVERY SINGLE DAY than ever recruit another level one. Growing my team means nothing if I’m not helping the people on my team grow.  If that duplicated down, we’d have a team of servants, and people LOVE being surrounded by people who love them well.

Finish these sentences:

  • When I joined Plexus, I thought…I would have five customers.
  • Now that I’m a Diamond, I realize…This is an amazing opportunity. You should offer this to every single person…so they can never ask you why you didn’t tell them it was an option.¤

What’s next for you on your Plexus journey?

Seven Diamonds. I want to get seven friends to Diamond and make the seven Diamond goal THEIR goal…and ALWAYS forming new relationships. I love people. With or without Plexus.¤
